I saw someone

teach their friend to ride a bike

today

She had a big coat

and a helmet because she will fall

many times

And her bike swayed

because her arms wouldn’t react

to her leaning

and when her friend

said look forward not at the ground

they laughed

because the rider

said it was just like drivers ed

look a street ahead

And the friend

too quickly got defensive of their

instructions

because both of them

were saying the same thing

so they laughed
